PRAYER TO REST AND RELAX FROM WORK

Dear Lord, thank you for all the blessings you gave me. Thank you because your ways are good, and you provided me with work and activities that serve you and made me live my purpose.
As I pray humbly before you today, I ask that you also give my body and mind the rest they need. Lord, it is by your will that I get up each day to use my physical, mental and emotional capacities. You know my heart and my soul and I want nothing more than to work and provide for my loved ones.
In this moment when I long to connect with you, I pray to the Holy Spirit to restore my strength and renew my mind. I want to spend this precious time away from work to care for my body, refresh my emotions and most of all, to worship you as my Creator.
As you bless and motivate me to do your will for my life, I pray my Lord, that you will also show mercy and compassion on my body that needs to rest and to relax right now.
I invite you into the quiet of my mind, and I welcome your presence today when I don’t engage in any active physical and mental activity.
Whenever my thoughts start to wander off and I think of the list of things I have to do, draw me gently back into your presence, dear Lord, and fill my heart and mind with your peace and joy. The joy that also comes from doing nothing else but spending time with you.
All this I ask in the name of Jesus my Healer, my Savior. Amen.
