PRAYER FOR PROTECTION AGAINST MALICIOUS WORDS AND ACTIONS

Lord Jesus, in a world where dangers are everywhere and evil can attack us at any time, I pray you would protect me from people who try to violate my dignity as a human.

Sometimes I hear stories in the news or from friends, colleagues and family members who suffer from different verbal or physical harassment.

I pray you would protect me from other people’s disrespectful comments about my body and my gender, and that you would shield me with your powerful arms when they show unwanted physical advances toward me.

Lord Jesus, you are my hiding place and it is only in your presence do I feel completely safe from harm and danger. Most of the time these so-called harassments in our society happen so quickly that a vulnerable person like me can only have a few seconds to react or to respond.

Should I become a victim to any of these behaviors of people whom I know, please give me the courage to defend myself, to speak up and to assert that my personal space was invaded and my dignity violated. Help me remain calm, trusting that your peace is within me even in distressing situations.

If a stranger gives inappropriate random comments or claimed to have accidentally touched me, I pray you would also give me the mental and physical strength to respond, to push him/her away or to get away as quickly as possible.

Lord Jesus Christ, it is beyond my capacity and responsibility as an ordinary individual to stop evil people from doing evil things. You alone are the Ultimate Judge of mankind’s sins so I pray that angels guide and protect me every moment of my life, and your protective arms would also embrace my loved ones.

You are my beloved Savior. Deliver me from the wicked intentions of others. Drive away the enemy that distract me from you. Open my heart, my ears and my mind to your voice calling me always to safety and refuge.

When I am alone, guide me where I should go and what I should do. Please give me the right judgment to avoid harmful people, places, things and situations.

Bless my home, workplace, neighborhood and the roads that I travel on. Whether I am in the security of my house or at a public place, may your veil of protection cover me at all times.

Protect me also, my Lord, from vengeful thoughts. Let me understand that it is not in my place to punish evildoers, but draw me near to your presence so any ugly, upsetting and traumatic experience I have had or may have from malicious people will be healed by your love and mercy.

Many places in this world are scary to live in and to travel, but I put my complete trust in you, my Lord, that I may not live in fear and worry everyday. I cannot avoid the troubles in this life, but I know you will fight for me (Exodus 14:14). You are my mighty Protector who stands beside me so I can face the awkward and distressing situations that come my way.

I want to go on living and working day by day with confidence and faith in your truth and will, that whoever listens to you shall live in peace and safety, unafraid (Proverbs 1:33).

When I am asleep, watch over me and fill every corner of my room with your strong and peaceful presence. Shelter my resting body from physical and spiritual attacks that even when my eyes are closed, no harm or danger will come to me.

I pray for my family, too. Guide each of my loved ones to safety. Lead us away from temptation and forgive us for our sins. Our lives are in your hands. Let us take comfort and have peace under the shadow of your wings.

I praise and glorify you for everything that You are, my loving protector and Savior.

I love you, my Creator and my Father.
