Thoughts and feelings of gratitude come easily into our days when everything is going well. Our hearts burst with joy as we utter silent prayers of adoration to God for answering our prayers. But what if pain and suffering come into our lives? As humans it's not easy for us not to complain about the difficult situation we're in, and it's harder still to talk to Jesus about getting us out of these trials because our minds are filled with doubts and confusion. This prayer is my comfort words at a time when I suffer disappointments, illnesses and loneliness. Since I have an analytical mind and overthinking is a habit, being anxious is a common feeling for me. This prayer is simply a humble outpouring of all the emotions I have when I forced my mind not to even think of what I want or need from God.
Dear my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Please accept my sufferings right now and look not on my sins in the past. I come to you right now to worship you, to seek you, and to long to be closer to you. I come to you carrying the heaviness in my heart because of the pain that I am experiencing right now. I bring my hurts and heartaches to worship you as my God and Savior.
I am here because my heart and my spirit longs to be close you. With this pain and this struggle, I kneel humbly before you to pledge my love and my devotion to your loving name. Only you, my Lord, knows how long my suffering will end. Let my healing for _____ be done according to your will. And so I pray that you will accept this burden as my worship to you.
Every moment I seek your mercy, compassion, forgiveness and healing for my _____. Let my soul rest in your presence and let my suffering body find comfort and relief in your embrace. Amen.
